Thanks to generous donations from the Friends of the Lucy Robbins Welles Library, we are able to offer museum and attraction passes to the public.
Many of our museums now participate in our Print-on-Demand program.
Print-on-demand means that you are able to printout the museum pass from home or a local printer. These passes do not need to be returned. Simply make your reservation, print the pass out, and you're good to go! These passes must be presented in printed format - electronic versions (on smartphones or tablets) will not be accepted by museums. Some museums may ask to see identification that matches the pass printout.
The museums that are not participating at this time will still offer physical passes available for pick up at the library in the same fashion that you are used to.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a pass?
You may reserve a pass using our webpage from home or you may call the library at 665-8700 to reserve a pass If it is a Print-on-Demand pass, just print and go. A library staff member will also be happy to reserve a pass for you. You may reserve passes up to 90 days in advance.
When can I pick up my pass?
Your physical pass should be available after 1 P.M. on the day before your reservation. Because we cannot control when the pass is actually returned, we advise you to please call 665-8700 to determine if your pass is available. Your pass must be checked out from the library with the same library card that was used to make the reservation. Reservations must be made with an Adult Library Card.
Are there any limits or penalties?
You may reserve 4 passes per month but you may not exceed 1 reservation per month for the same museum. During the summer and other high use periods passes will be limited to one per week up to 4 per month. If you fail to pick up passes twice in a 90 day period you will be blocked from reserving passes for 90 days. There is a $5.00 per day fine if the pass is not returned on time and the replacement fee for a lost pass is the cost of the pass.
When does the pass need to be returned?
The pass is checked out until noon the day after your visit to the museum. We request that you return by NOON the day after your visit to the museum so it will be available for other patrons. Passes should be returned to the circulation desk. The book drop may be used when the library is closed.
What does the pass allow me to do?
Passes allow a set number of people to attend the attraction or museum for a reduced rate or free admission. Patrons must abide by the conditions that each location sets forth.
May I borrow a pass on a day that the Library is closed?
Yes, if you wish to visit a museum on a day that the Library is closed, please contact the Library to arrange to pick up the physical pass on the day prior to the Library's closed day(s). Print-on-Demand passes may be printed an any time..
