Ask a Question by E-mail
What is it?
The library’s E-mail Reference Service enables you to ask questions online and receive answers by e-mail.
What kinds of questions do we answer?
We answer brief factual questions. We may also direct you to other sources, such as web pages, library online resources or print material, where you will find information about your topic.
If your question is in-depth or complicated, you may call or visit the library during regular hours. A reference librarian will be glad to assist you.
Please also note that our Online Resources are available to you 24/7, although some may require a Lucy Robbins Welles Library card number.
Who answers your questions?
The librarians of the reference department receive and answer your questions.
When will you receive a response?
Upon receipt of your question, you will receive e-mail verifying that your question has been received. You may expect an answer within 24 hours (Monday to Friday, holidays excepted.) If you need an answer by a certain date, please be sure to specify this in your request.
