The Town of Newington operates under the Council/Manager form of government, a system that combines the policy leadership of elected officials in the form of a Town Council, with the professional, managerial, and leadership expertise of an appointed Town Manager.
The Town Council is the legislative body for the Town of Newington. Nine (9) members are elected to serve two (2) year terms. The Town Council meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m,
