Secretary of State
Through the commitment of a knowledgeable staff and advanced technology, the Office of the Secretary of the State works as a team to provide a wide range of services for the people and businesses of Connecticut. The office is a repository of records for the State, and provides important information and resources regarding business and commercial filings, elections, and authentication as prescribed by the constitution, and federal and state laws. They seek to support business development opportunities, and foster a more inclusive political process by educating, informing and engaging communities in youth and civic preparation.

Department of Consumer Protection
The mission of the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection is to ensure a fair and equitable marketplace, safe products and services for consumers in the industries that we license, regulate and enforce. They do this through licensing and regulating many types of businesses and workers, monitoring the marketplace, and protecting consumers and individuals doing business in the state of Connecticut.

Department of Energy and Environmental Protection
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is charged with conserving, improving and protecting the natural resources and the environment of the state of Connecticut as well as making cheaper, cleaner and more reliable energy available for the people and businesses of the state. The agency is also committed to playing a positive role in rebuilding Connecticut’s economy and creating jobs – and to fostering a sustainable and prosperous economic future for the state.

The mission of the Connecticut Insurance Department is consumer protection. The Department carries out its mission by enforcing state insurance laws to ensure policyholders are treated fairly, by providing assistance, outreach and education to help consumers make sound choices and by regulating the industry in a fair and consistent manner that fosters market competition for availability of insurance.
