"100th ANNIVERSARY PARADE”

The Newington Volunteer Fire Department is honored & excited to be Celebrating their "100 Years of Service" to the Town of Newington! As part of our year long series of celebratory events, the Newington Fire Department, Inc. Would like to cordially invite everyone to join in the celebration by attending our 100th Anniversary Parade!  The parade will be on Saturday, September 23, 2017 stepping off at 4:30 p.m. along Main Street.

NVFD 100th Anniversary parade will travel down Main Street through Newington Center, turn onto Garfield Street, and will end at Mill Pond Park. All are invited to join us in the park after parade for good food, beer/wine garden, children's activities, corn hole tournament and special entertainment featuring “Jeff Pitchell with the Texas Flood Band”! Overall a great time to be had by the whole family! We look forward to an amazing day of celebration!

JUNIOR FIREFIGHTER CHALLENGE

Part of our celebration activities in Mill Pond Park include a NVFD Junior Firefighter Challenge.  Children are sure to have tons of fun as they participate in a Firefighter task obstacle course where they will experience every day on-hands firefighter tasks. (Firefighter Dress-up, Hose Carry, Dummy Drag, Save the Cat from the Tree, Advance the Hoseline, Get Low Stay Low, Dummy Drag & Charge the line, etc.) The NVFD Jr. Firefighter Challenge is for all ages and fitness abilities as all tasks will be age appropriate & guided by one of NVFD Bravest - ensuring a great time by all!!
