The Newington Parks and Recreation Department announces that the Century 21 Stamm Eddy Real Estate Company has committed for the third year to sponsor the Life. Be in it. Extravaganza helicopter rides on Wednesday, July 18th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Chip Stamm, owner of Century 21 Stamm Eddy, was a proud winner of the Newington Parks and Recreation Special Recognition Award in December. He is so excited about being a part of the private/public partnership with Newington Parks and Recreation. The five minute rides around the Town of Newington at about 400 feet high, will cost $45 this year. The rides are limited and people should register online or in our office as soon as possible. The rain date is Thursday, July 19th. People that did it last year were in awe of the views. Many residents took pictures of their own houses from the sky. The rides make for a great birthday or anniversary present. People came from as far away as New York to take a ride last year. The Newington Parks and Recreation Department is thankful to Century 21 Stamm Eddy for subsidizing the cost of bringing a helicopter to Newington for rides.

Those interested can register online by clicking the link at the bottom of this page or by registering in the Parks and Recreation office.

In addition to the helicopter rides on Wednesday, there will be a live concert featuring Airborne, Island Jazz music, a tie dye program, the Church of Christ Congregational Sundae Ice Cream Social give away and the carnival. There is lots going on at Mill Pond Park every night leading up to the Life. Be in it. Extravaganza. All proceeds will go to the Life. Be in it. Extravaganza Fireworks Show which will be bigger and better than last year! You can help defray the cost of the brilliant fireworks show by donating to the fund.

For more information, please call the Parks & Recreation Department at 860-665-8666, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  <--------- If you'd like to see Newington like you never have before, click here
