Join us for Open Creative Play with LEGO® bricks, motors, gears and other fun and challenging building components. Learn new techniques, explore technologies, and share in the love of building, creating, and 'Learning through Play'. This event is open to all patrons age 3 through high school! This is a drop in program.

Pajama Yoga

Tuesday, October 10, 7:00 p.m.

Namaste everyone!  That means peace.  Children ages 4-8 and their caregivers are invited to come to the library in comfortable pajamas to have fun doing Yoga together.  Beth Agdish, a certified Next Generation Yoga for Kids instructor, will teach us techniques and traditional poses.  Mats will be provided to those who do not bring one.  Please call to register beginning September 26.

Jr. Cookbook Club

Newington’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Tabletop Shop will be here to teach us some fabulous tabletop games!  Families are invited to participate in games that involve creative thinking and cooperative team planning. There will be different games on hand for different age levels, including ages 3 through teen.

Parent – Child Workshop

Family Place is presenting a 4-week series of free workshops for parents and their 1-3 year-old children. Meet other families, share thoughts, and talk with librarians and child development experts as you play and read with your child. Find out about community services that can help you and your family. Brothers and sisters under 5 are invited to join the fun!

Jeff Mack Book Signing

Friday, October 27, 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Due to the generosity of the Sliva Family, children’s author/illustrator Jeff Mack will be coming to Newington on October 27.  He is the author and illustrator of the Clueless McGee series and has authored and/or illustrated many hilarious picture books.  Mr. Mack will be speaking to all third and fourth graders at Newington High School in the morning and will be here to sign books.  Books will be available for sale at the Library.

Building with LEGO® Bricks
