  • Residents may obtain Transfer Station permits at the Town Highway Garage (281 Milk Lane) Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Tuesday 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.  or at the Town Hall in the Town Clerk’s office Monday, Wednesday & Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Tuesday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm & Friday, 8:30 to noon.  License and registration of residents’ vehicle are required to obtain a sticker.   • Bulk collection is done every Thursday and residents are asked to contact Trash Away (860)-229-1164 to schedule a pick up.  Each residence is allowed two non-metal items per week and must contact the hauler prior to 1:00 on Wednesday to schedule a pick up.  The town is allowed a maximum of 165 stops per week therefore scheduling is done on a first come first serve basis.

  • Scrap metal collection is done every Tuesday and residents are asked to contact Trash Away (860)-229-1164 to schedule a pick up. The deadline for scheduling a scrap metal pick up is 1:00 on Monday.  The fee for the first item is $15.00 and $5.00 for each additional item.  Residents may also bring the scrap metal to the Town Landfill during operating hours.

  • Residents may obtain a second trash container by contacting Trash Away (860)-229-1164. The annual non-prorated fee is $100.00.

  • Residents may obtain an additional recycling container by contacting Trash Away at (860)-229-1164.  Currently there is no charge for the additional container.

  • Fluorescent and CFL bulbs may be recycled as part of the Town's Ewaste program at the Town's Landfill during operating hours.  Incandescent bulbs are not recyclable and my be disposed of in your green trash container.

  • Excess or old paint may be recycled as part of the CT DEEP's Paint recycling program or recycle as part of the MDC Hazardous Waste Collection program
