[ARCHIVED] Reminder: No tax bill will be sent for the 2nd installment on Real Estate and Personal Property

Tax Bill Reminder

This is a Reminder:   No tax bill is sent for the 2nd installment for the January Real Estate and/or Personal Property tax.   Your January installment was included with your July tax bill.  If you have misplaced the January installment you can locate it on line or call the Tax Office (860 666-8540).  Supplemental Motor Vehicle tax bills will be mailed at the end of December which are for cars purchased or registered after October 1, 2022.

The last day to pay without penalty is February 1st. All payments received on February 2nd will be charged interest according to CT State Statute Sec. 12-146. There are no exceptions. All back taxes must be paid prior to the new tax bills.

The Tax Office is open to the public and only accepts payments by check, money order, and cash.   You may also pay by mail, or drop your check into the silver tax payment box located in the parking lot near the Town Hall entrance, or online www.newingtonct.gov.  Do not pay back taxes online if you need a release to register a car with the Dept. of Motor Vehicles.

Taxpayers are responsible to pay taxes when they are due.  Failure to receive a tax bill does not invalidate the tax, interest or fees.

Town Hall Hours:  Mon. Wed. and Thurs. 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

                             Tues. 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
