The State of Connecticut has activated the severe weather protocol for the State of Connecticut in advance of the severe cold weather expected over the course of the next 4 days. The Town of Newington has the following public buildings open for residents to use as temporary warming centers:
Lucy Robbins Welles Library – 100 Garfield Street
Thursday: 10am – 8pm
Friday: 10am – 5pm
Saturday: 10am – 5pm
Sunday: 1pm – 4pm
Newington Senior and Disabled Center – 120 Cedar Street
Monday – Friday: 8:30 – 4:30
Should anybody need additional assistance or overnight sheltering, please contact 2-1-1 and they will provide assistance as needed.
