Beginning February 1st 2021 all bulky waste collection requests including scrap metal collection will now be made by contacting Trash Away directly @ (860)-229-1164. Residents are reminded each household or condominium unit is allowed two non-metal items per week. Please click here for a list of acceptable items.
The deadline for scheduling the Thursday bulky waste collection will remain Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Residents are reminded there is a maximum of 165 stops per week therefore scheduling is done on a first come first serve basis.
Scrap metal collection will continue to be done on Tuesdays and the deadline for scheduling is 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The current fee for scrap metal collection is $11.00 for the first item and $5.00 for each additional item. Scrap metal may also be brought to the Town’s Transfer Station during regular operating hours at no charge.
Additional trash and recycling containers may be obtained by contacting Trash Away @ (860)-229-1164. The current fee for a leased trash containers is $90.00 per year. Lease year begins July 1st of each year.
