[ARCHIVED] New at Newington Parks and Recreation

Newington Parks and Recreation swoosh-style logo

The Newington Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce the installation of two new structures in town. First, we have a brand new Fixation Station at the Clem Lemire Skate Park. This station has a variety of tools for bikers, skaters and more to utilize if their equipment needs a tune-up or a repair. On the station is a multitude of wrenches, an air pump, different types of screw drivers, and more! The Fixation Station was awarded to the Department through a grant offered by Central Connecticut Health District. We couldn't be more excited to be able to offer this to those that use the skate park and any other bikers, boarders and more that wish to use the station!

Secondly, we now have a multi-function water fountain at Mill Pond Park. This water fountain has four different features! It can serve runners, walkers, bikers and those working out on the Saputo Fitness Center. It is also handicapped accessible and can serve persons that utilize a wheelchair. The fountain is also accessible to children. In addition, it can also fill a five gallon jug and, best of all, it can fill a bowl of water for our furry friends as you walk your pet through the park! This fountain was donated by Dr. Ellen Leonard and Greg Matthaey. Thank you Dr. Leonard and Mr. Matthaey for your generous donation! Head on down to Mill Pond Park to check out this amazing new feature!
