The Senior & Disabled Center’s Giving Garden is an organic raised-bed garden located in the back yard of the Center. Garden volunteers plan, plant, maintain and harvest organic produce and herbs to benefit the Newington Human Services Food bank. The garden is also a beautiful, peaceful space full of flowers and other beautiful plants.
The Center staff wishes to express a sincere THANK YOU to our garden volunteers: Master Gardeners Helena and Linda, and volunteers Doreen, Dawn and Carol for their efforts in making this year’s garden a success! These five volunteers worked through the hot, humid summer, braving record temperatures and even heavy rain to maintain the various crops. We could not be more grateful!
Would you like to volunteer for the Giving Garden? If so, please stop by the main office or give us a call at 860-665-8778. All experience levels (or even no experience!) welcome.
