[ARCHIVED] Thank You Giving Garden Volunteers!

Photo of recently harvested green beans, cherry tomatoes, basil and eggplant

The Senior & Disabled Center’s Giving Garden is an organic raised-bed garden located in the back yard of the Center.  Garden volunteers plan, plant, maintain and harvest organic produce and herbs to benefit the Newington Human Services Food bank.  The garden is also a picturesque, peaceful space full of flowers and other beautiful plants.

The Center staff wishes to express a sincere THANK YOU to our garden volunteers.  Despite many challenges such as animals and a record hot month of July, Master Gardeners Helena and Linda, and volunteers put forth an impressive effort in making this year’s garden a success!   We could not be more grateful!

Would you like to volunteer for the Giving Garden?  If so, please stop by the main office or give us a call at 860-665-8778.  All experience levels (or even no experience!) welcome.
