Training for the Department

In addition to conducting all training programs, the Training Division conducts training and maintains state certification for all of the department’s sworn officers and civilian personnel. The unit works closely with staff at the Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POSTC), Capital Region Chiefs of Police Training Systems, the Spector Criminal Justice Training Network, formerly known as the Connecticut Criminal Law Foundation (Spector) as well as private training companies to provide our officers with the most up to date and comprehensive training available.
