[ARCHIVED] Today is August 1st - Last Day to Pay Taxes without Penalty

Blue and white sign saying tax information available online

The Town of Newington is excited to announce we have implemented a new secure online payment & electronic billing service which offers you flexibility to enjoy 24/7 access.    You can pay your taxes 24/7 by credit/debit card or by check through our online vendor, Invoice Cloud, who charges a service fee for online payments.

Credit card payments are charged a 2.95% service fee.   Check payments (EFT/ACH) are charged a $.95 service fee.  Any prior year taxes will be paid first. If a motor vehicle release is needed, releases can be processed three business days after online payments.

The Tax Office does not accept debit/credit card payments in the office or by telephone. For Office Payments cash, checks and money orders are accepted.  We encourage payments by check or money order to keep the wait times down.  One check may be made out for multiple tax bills. Postdated checks are not accepted. If you require a receipt for your records, please bring in your entire bill.

Please remember the tax office is open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

On August 2nd  the delinquent tax is subject to the CT State mandated interest rate of 1 ½% per month from the July 1st due date with a minimum of $2.00 for each individual tax, or 3% whichever is greater. No exceptions.
