Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available for Newington residents only.
Emergency Assistance
Our staff is knowledgeable about federal, state and private financial assistance resources. Residents in need are encouraged to schedule an appointment so we may determine their eligibility. Our Special Needs Fund provides limited emergency basic need assistance through generous contributions from school, business, religious, civic organizations and residents.

The Newington Food Bank provides supplemental groceries to Newington residents facing financial hardship

Back To School Supplies
Newington Human Services distributes new backpacks, school supplies (and socks!!) to eligible* households with school-aged children (under age 21) prior to the first day of school

Operation Fuel is private, nonprofit statewide program that provides emergency energy assistance to lower-income working families and elderly residents.

Parks & Rec Programs
You may be eligible for a free or reduced pool pass, payment plan and up to 15% off fees for select programs. Each family member is eligible for financial assistance for one program and pool pass per season
