About Our Program

Our Creative Playtime Preschool Program is open to children ages 2 years and 9 months -5 years old, students for the 2025-2026 school year! The program is fully licensed through the State of Connecticut and follows the state’s Early Learning Standards.  Our student gets to take advantage of being in one of the best locations in Newington, they play on the playground and walk around the pond at Mill Pond Park, visit the Lucy Robbins Welles Library, and play in the Mortensen Community Center Gymnasium on rainy days, plus our classroom is brand new!  The Preschool is open daily from 7:30 am-5:30 pm.  We hold a morning session from 7:30 am-12:00 pm, an afternoon session from 1:00 pm-5:30 pm, and a full-day session from 7:30 am-5:30 pm.  We have a flexible drop off and pick but ask that all students attending in the morning arrive by 9:00 am and all students attending in the afternoon arrive by 1:30 pm. 

Please note that registration for this program is only accepted at the Newington Parks and Recreation office.  Our normal office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Tuesdays 8:30 am-6:00 pm, and Fridays 8:30 am - 12:00 pm.  We do not accept registration for this program online or over the phone.

2025-2026 Registration Dates:

For current families and siblings, registration begins Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

For new families, registration begins Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

For non-residents, registration begins Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
