Newington is committed to preserving and expanding its open space resources.

 Open space areas include parks, the Deming Young Farm, the Eddy Farm conservation easement and Cedar Mountain, including the impressive overlook at its summit.  A variety of hiking trails and biking paths throughout Town can be discovered using the Town of Newington Trails Guide.
